Ireland’s Finest Links Golf Resort
When Old Tom Morris was invited by the Earl of Leitrim to build a 9 hole golf course in 1891, I am sure he did not imagine that over 120 years later golfers from all corners would be travelling to play his wonderful layout.
The old course at Rosapenna now bears the name of Old Tom, and his statue watches over the resort which has evolved into one of the finest in Europe.
Lord Leitrim continued to invest in Rosapenna over the coming years in the early 20th century. A game in 1910 between Harry Vardon, James Braid, Tom Ball and George Duncan an example of the standard of golfer that visited in the early years of golf at Rosapenna.
The same can be said today under the watchful stewardship of the Casey family. Frank and Hilary Casey purchased Rosapenna in 1981 and sons John and Frank now work tirelessly to push this wonderful resort to a global audience.
